Is Toyota Proace Coming to the USA?

Toyota has confirmed that the electric Proace and Proace City Van will be on sale in 2020 and 2021.

Toyota has announced that electric vehicle (EV) versions of its Proace and Proace City vans will launch over the next two years. This comes alongside the introduction of a new “Professional” brand for the company’s light commercial vehicle (LCV) proposition, a customized Proace Black Edition van, and a sales target of 35,000 units per year for Proace City compact vans. Tom Roberts of Vanarama was in Rome for the announcements, and this is what he learned while he was there.

Rome is a city that is saturated with history and is no stranger to pronouncements that have the potential to change the world… Okay, I may be exaggerating a little bit here, but Toyota really did have some significant revelations in store for the ninety European media representatives who were present at its Italian headquarters on Friday, July 5th.

The most important of those revelations… Within the next two years, Toyota will introduce battery-electric versions of the existing Proace medium van as well as the new Proace City small van to its roster of light commercial vehicles (LCVs) under the moniker “Proace Electric.”
