2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Is Jeep Bringing Back The Grand Cherokee? This week, Jeep unveiled the next-generation 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The vehicle will initially be available in a seven-seat, three-row ‘L’ configuration, and a two-row, five-seat variant is expected to become available in around two years.
However, there is one concern that is on the minds of many Jeep enthusiasts, and that question is when the coverings will be pulled off of the high-performance SRT and Trackhawk variants, and what will they look like.
Using the recently revealed Grand Cherokee L as a starting point and giving it a sportier Overland package, here is our vision of what the latter may look like if it were supercharged and could breathe fire.
The arches are filled and surrounded by wide wheel-arch flares, black alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli rubber, and Brembo high-performance brakes, all of which were borrowed from the current-generation Trackhawk (below). Their conspicuousness is matched by a tall bonnet scoop that was borrowed from the 523kW Ram 1500 TRX pick-up, which is powered by the same 6.2-liter supercharged V8 as the Jeep.
The exterior of our next-generation Trackhawk features larger air intakes, a trio of vents underneath the seven-slot grille (as per the current SRT and Trackhawk), black trim, pentagonal lower LED daytime running lights, and the necessary SRT, Hemi 6.2, and Supercharged badging. Our next-generation Trackhawk also sits noticeably lower to the ground than the standard Grand Cherokee L.
The performance SUV would be powered by a modified version of the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 gasoline engine that is currently utilized by the current Trackhawk as well as a multitude of other FCA (and now Stellantis) models. These models include the Dodge Challenger, Charger, and Durango SRT Hellcat trio, as well as the aforementioned Ram 1500 TRX ute.
The engine produces 522 kilowatts of power and 868 newton-meters of torque in current Australian-delivered Trackhawks. However, a power increase would likely be in the cards for any potential new-generation model, possibly matching the 535 kilowatts and 889 newton-meters extracted from the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, or the 594 kilowatts and 959 newton-meters from the full-fat (but sub-De
However, any increase in power would most certainly be nullified by the L model’s additional weight, which is caused by its larger body that was constructed to accommodate a third row of seating.
Exterior And Interior Design
As was said before, the currently active generation has been around since the year 2014. On the other hand, not too many years ago, when an entirely fresh and noticeably more alluring design was introduced, we saw a big makeover take place.
As a result of this, we do not foresee their being any changes made to the Jeep Grand Cherokee in 2024. Larger changes shouldn’t be done before the overhaul, and the present generation should stay in production for a few more years at least until the next one comes out.
The off-road capability of this crossover is something that especially impresses us. Almost all of the different editions are able to provide consistent and dependable performance.
There are, of course, additional versions that were developed especially for off-road driving. This makes special reference to the Jeep Active Drive Lock 4WD system, upgraded suspension, all-terrain tires, rear skid plate, and other components that are included as standard equipment on the Trailhawk model.
Given the old age of this model, it is not surprising that the interior is not the most luxury one available in its category. However, this interior is not at all unattractive in any way.
Numerous locations make use of materials that have a gentle feel to them, and the overall building quality is of a high standard. On the other side, chairs could be more accommodating in terms of comfort and support. Both rows of seats provide a generous amount of legroom, making it possible for adults to sit in complete comfort.
The front seats provide a very extensive perspective in this respect, which is something that we much like as a result of the outstanding vision in all directions. Because there is sufficient space in both the head and leg areas in the second row, even taller passengers have a good chance of having a pleasant trip.
There is a possibility that a few more things may be added to the list of essential gear, but we do not anticipate seeing anything more noteworthy than what is described here. Instead, there should not be much of a change made to the list of essential pieces of equipment.
For this reason, amenities such as a touch screen of 7 inches in size, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, Bluetooth, a USB connector, and an audio system with six speakers have to be standard equipment for all models. The variety of options that may be chosen from right now is fairly broad.
Features such as a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a power outlet designed for use in the home, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, an 8.4-inch touch screen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, satellite radio, HD Radio, an additional front USB port, two rear USB ports, proximity keyless entry, and remote start are among the highlights.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is anticipated to be available in 2024 with three well-known engine choices. The 2.4-liter inline-four engine from the base models will remain, with a maximum output of 180 horsepower. Although it isn’t exceptionally quick, it might be used for regular commuting.
A well-known 3.3-liter V6 is an excellent option if you want something more potent. Along with strong performance, this engine produces 271 horsepower and has a pleasant sound. The last engine is a 2.0-liter turbo-four that produces 295 pound-feet of torque in addition to 270 horsepower. Of the three, it is the most effective unit.
The standard engine’s fuel economy is about 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg overall. The V6 is the thirstiest and gets about 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, while the turbo-four is quite comparable.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk
The SUV was the most powerful factory configuration for many years. A 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, also called Hellcat, was producing 707 hp. Well, it is still there to throw out the same amount of power.
But, the company made it available for other vehicles. On the Dodge Durango, the same powerplant delivers 710 hp. Well, fans of the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk won’t cry too much about it. Besides the engine, there are numerous other additions that make this setup a unique SUV in the market. The mileage is the worst nightmare. The system returns only 11/17 mpg, and it doesn’t seem to become too better.
2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Release Date And Price
