2024 Lexus LS 500: Is The Lexus LS 500 A V-8? A flurry of activity has been witnessed in the premium sedan market lately, with Audi having just debuted the A8L Horch Founder’s Edition, and Mercedes having just just presented the revamped S-Class as well as the all-new EQS.
To ensure that they are not outdone, BMW is now putting the final touches on the next iteration of the 7-Series. The Lexus LS, which is the fourth member of that group, will get a number of revisions for the 2022 model year so that it can compete more effectively.
This year’s improvements are rather small since the flagship sedan received a makeover for 2021, thus the only notable change is the addition of Haku inside decoration, which is now available on vehicles that are equipped with the Luxury and Executive Packages.
Although Lexus did not give too many information, they did mention that Haku foil is “produced by precisely flattening a piece of metal until it becomes as thin as one ten-thousandth of a millimeter.” [Citation needed] This creates a “delicate shimmer” that is described as seeming “reminiscent of moonlight shining over ocean waves.”
Additionally, even the base model of the LS may now be upgraded to include a Mark Levinson Quantum Logic Immersion Reference Surround Sound Audio System that has 23 speakers. Although the name is difficult to say, the device’s output of 2,400 watts is rather amazing.
The last significant update is the introduction of the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 array of driver aid technologies as a new standard feature on all models. It features All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and a Pre-Collision System with Frontal Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Pedestrian and Bicyclist Detection.
Additionally, it has All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. Lane Tracing Assist (also known as Lane Centering), Intelligent High Beams, and Road Sign Assist are a few of the other features that stand out.
The LS 500 boasts a tried-and-true twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates 416 horsepower (310 kW / 422 PS) and 442 pound-feet (599 Nm) of torque, but Lexus has been tight-lipped regarding the LS 500h. Because of this, the rear-wheel drive version can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (or 0 to 96 kilometers per hour) in 4.6 seconds.

Examining The IS500 In Detail
Ivan Ilagan, our host, reveals to us that the IS500, the RCF, and the LC500 all share the same engine underneath their hoods. To be more specific, a V8 engine displacing 5.0 liters. This is an engine that has a total output of 472 horsepower, which is 56 more horsepower than an ISF from the generation before this one.
Lexus has done an excellent job of squeezing its V8 engine into a form that is both elegant and contemporary, and the sound is absolutely amazing. It looks like a sheep, but it’s really a wolf in sheep’s clothes. It is a formula that is pretty traditional, with a large V8 engine located up front, and only rear-wheel drive. In addition to that, it is equipped with the RCF’s automatic gearbox that has eight different gears.

Standout Interior Design
Driving generally offers you more time to admire the LS500’s interior, which is clearly its highlight feature. The style makes me think of Art Deco, especially the dashboard and door cards. I probably shouldn’t mention this in public, but I spent much more time than was healthy just touching the door cards, which include a three-dimensional combination of leather, Alcantara, and wood.
I found the combination to be really satisfying. In addition to the front and back seats being among the most relaxing I’ve ever experienced in a vehicle, the massaging feature that was included in the model we tested was among the most advanced I’ve seen in a premium automobile.
On the other hand, a few of the car’s technological features are getting an old-fashioned feel to them. The infotainment screen in Lexus vehicles has recently been updated; it is now a 12.3-inch touchscreen that can also be controlled via a touchpad located on the center console.
Unfortunately, the Lexus Enform infotainment software is still behind the systems that you’ll find in the car’s German competitors. These rivals include Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz.
At this level in the market, the tiny things count, and it’s disconcerting to see a relatively potato-quality rearview camera shown on what is really a pretty pixel-dense screen. At this level, the market, the little details matter.
In a similar manner, the digital primary instrument display seems to be many generations behind that of competitor firms, all of which provide large digital displays to their drivers. In front of the driver of the LS500 is a smaller digital screen, and on each side of it are analog gauges displaying the water temperature and the fuel level. The whole cluster of instruments is wrapped in leather.
On the other hand, I do not have any criticisms about the newly implemented heads-up display. Although the navigation instructions do not look as augmented reality as they do in the brand-new Mercedes S-Class, the LS may now be equipped with a 24-inch color head-up display (HUD) that is competitive with those offered by other vehicles in its class for the current model year.
Everything about the LS500 gives the feeling that Lexus understands how to put a vehicle together; the build quality seems excellent no matter what you poke, prod, touch, or stroke. This is the overarching impression that one gets from the LS500. When it comes to head-to-head competition with automobiles manufactured by Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, this model’s cabin offers a number of advantages that make it a clear winner.
However, the outward design may not be to everyone’s liking, notably the cheese-grater-style front grille that is characteristic of Cylons. If you find that appealing, the LS500h is the model that you should go for.
