2024 Subaru Impreza: Is The Impreza Being Discontinued? The Subaru Impreza, which is available as both a sedan and a hatchback, has not been updated for this model year. A new exterior color has been added, but other than that, the only difference is that the Limited trim level is no longer available on the sedan.

As a direct consequence of this, the base price of the 2022 Subaru Impreza sedan will not change; it will continue to be set at $18,795 before delivery and destination taxes. The four-door sedan version of the Impreza is driven by a poor engine that is neither swift nor strong and does not achieve satisfactory fuel economy.

The manual gearbox is not recommended over the continuously variable transmission (CVT) since it is more difficult to use in everyday situations. Despite having weak performance, the Subaru Impreza features a cabin that is well-equipped, has outstanding handling, and provides a pleasant ride.

The cabin of the Subaru Impreza 2022 is big, pleasant, and provides a sufficient amount of practical features for both the driver and the passengers.

However, it is the only vehicle in the race that is equipped as standard with an all-wheel drive system, which makes it considerably simpler to navigate hazardous road conditions or regions that get regular snowfall. In general, it is a nice vehicle for the money, and in a few areas, such as the quality of the cabin, it is superior to the other options available.

The 2022 Subaru Impreza competes in the same market as the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Kia Forte in the small sedan class with a price point of about $19,000.

Both a small sedan and a hatchback version of the New 2024 Subaru Impreza are offered, and all-wheel drive comes as standard equipment on both body types.

Because it is the only best-selling vehicle to come standard with all-wheel drive, the Impreza stands out from the competition and differentiates itself from the competition. Since the company made the decision a few years ago to include the most popular features and options as part of the standard package of the Impreza’s base model, the sedan that serves as Subaru’s entry-level offering, the Impreza, has enjoyed a consistent increase in its popularity among buyers looking for an affordable vehicle.

The Subaru, Civic, Elantra, Focus, and Corolla, in addition to the most recent Subaru model, are among the most well-known automobiles in the world.

Redesign of the Subaru Impreza 2024

The external styling of the Impreza may not be as eye-catching as that of a more extreme WRX STI, but it is undeniably attractive.

Wheels made of alloy, measuring 18 inches in diameter rather than steel at 16 inches in diameter are standard on the Sport trim level. Although LED headlights with steering-sensitive technology and the restricted grade are being phased out, halogen headlights continue to be the most often used kind.

On most of the models, a sunroof with controllable tilt and slide functionality is available as an optional extra. The exterior may be any one of seven different colors, including the brand-new Sapphire Blue Pearl that debuted for the 2022 model year.

The proportions of the 2022 Subaru Impreza Sedan are similar to those of the Honda Civic Sedan, making it a compact sedan. The length of the Impreza is 182.7 inches, the width is 70 inches, and the height is 57.3 inches.

The curb weight for the standard model of this Japanese sedan is 2,976 pounds, while the weight for the Premium model is 3,084 pounds, and the weight for the Sport model is 3,142 pounds.

Interior

The Subaru Impreza 2024 has the same cabin as its predecessor in terms of its design and features. This results in a practical and well-built interior that has enough storage space and controls that are positioned in an ergonomically sound manner.

It would seem that Subaru took some design elements from the Legacy and used them for the inside, which looks to have been modeled after the Legacy. The dashboard and the rest of the interior include a combination of hard-touch and soft-touch materials, with the latter constituting the vast majority of both of these categories. However, we won’t be moaning about the products in this market and within this price range.

The driver’s digital display measures 4.2 inches and has analog instruments. An infotainment screen is located in the middle of the dashboard, and it is flanked on each side by air conditioning vents.

Even when the sun is shining brightly, the instrument cluster is well-lit and easy to see. The seats have high-quality fabric and are outfitted with plush padding that provides both comfort and support.

There is enough space for both your legs and your head in both rows, in addition to extra storage. Seats upholstered in leather and equipped with a heating function are available in higher trim levels of certain model configurations. Even though the Impreza’s cargo area is just 12.3 cubic feet, it is still capable of holding your everyday loads in addition to a few pieces of carry-on baggage if you are heading away for the weekend.

With the exception of the Limited, all of the trim levels have seats that are upholstered in fabric. The Limited, on the other hand, features leather seats. Your decision on the outside paint color will influence whether or not the inside is black or ivory.

In addition to the urethane steering wheel that is included with the basic model, you have the option of upgrading to a premium model. This model comes complete with welcome lights and additional interior lighting in addition to the urethane steering wheel that is included with the basic model.

The sport variants have a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a pattern of red stitching, in addition to a gear lever that has a red stitching pattern. Although the sporty black fabric that covers the seats is the standard option, seats in an ivory hue are also available.

To give the impression that the automobile is more sporty than it really is, the dashboard, the armrest, and the storage bin in the center console are all upholstered in synthetic leather and decorated with red embroidery.

The dash and door cards each include a trim that looks like carbon fiber, which serves as the final touch. The inside of the Limited Edition is identical to the interior of the Sport Model, with the exception that the seats of the Limited Edition are upholstered in genuine leather and include silver-colored stitching.

Every Impreza is equipped out of the box with support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The entry-level and premium versions come equipped with a touchscreen measuring 6.5 inches, while the Sport and Limited grades come with displays of 8.0 inches as standard equipment. Both of these systems offer aesthetically pleasing and straightforward menus that are also nicely structured.

Engine

The slow-moving 2.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-4 engine that powers the 2024 Subaru Impreza generates 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. All Imprezas come standard with all-wheel drive, and customers may choose between a manual 5-speed gearbox or a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The power output of this engine is average, and its acceleration is around average as well. It is the most difficult vehicle in its class to maneuver, and achieving a decent level of performance requires a lot of work. The gearbox choices are even less desirable, with the CVT being inoperable and the manual being difficult to use.

Despite its many shortcomings, the Impreza has a superior ride and excellent handling. It takes the 2022 Impreza less than nine seconds to get from 0 to 60 miles per hour, and then it takes another eight seconds to finish the quarter-mile, making it the slowest car in its category.

The opposite of it is true of the steering, which is brisk and accurate. There will be no discernible effect even if you whip the Impreza through sharp turns at high speeds. Another area in which the Impreza excels is braking, since it requires a far less amount of time to come to a full stop in comparison to other sedans in its class that are similar.

The four-cylinder engine of the Subaru Impreza, which generates 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, is a turtle in comparison to the engines of other cars in the same class as the Subaru Impreza. The vehicle is equipped with all-wheel drive as a matter of course and comes standard with this feature.

When it comes to power, both the sedan and the hatchback need encouragement if they want their engines to stay in the proper place. Although the continuously variable transmission (CVT) in our long-term Subaru Sport hatchback worked better than the five-speed manual transmission in our Subaru Impreza Sport sedan, we still prefer the automatic gearbox due to the absence of notching and the greater accuracy it offers.

The ride quality of the Impreza is above average, and it is quite easy for it to navigate turns. However, in comparison to other vehicles of the same size, this one does not lean nearly as much as it travels around curves. In a bind, the Impreza Sport’s very sensitive brake pedal and short stopping distance raise the bar to an exceptionally high level.

For the 2024 model year, the Subaru Impreza Hatchback will be offered in four different trim levels to choose from. The standard, premium, sport, and limited editions are broken out here. Every one of the engines is a flat-four, normally aspirated 2.0-liter unit, and they are all utilized.

The two highest trim levels come standard with a continuously variable gearbox (CVT), while the trim levels below that come standard with a 5-speed manual transmission.
