Honda Pilot 2022: Will the 2022 Honda Pilot be Redesigned? – People who place a high value on practicability but don’t really like the lifestyle of driving a minivan will find a safe haven in the Honda Pilot 2022. To clarify, the three-row SUV cannot mimic the roominess and adaptability of the Honda Odyssey, with which it shares a chassis and a quick V-6 powerplant.

This is because the Odyssey has a longer wheelbase. What the Honda Pilot loses in sliding doors and room for passengers to spread out in the third row, it makes up for with a higher driving position, the availability of all-wheel drive, and the capacity to tow up to 5,000 pounds. In addition to that, the inside is roomy and well-appointed, and it comes standard with a plethora of driver assistance systems and other desirable amenities.

Unfortunately, its exterior is completely forgettable, particularly when contrasted with the aesthetically stimulating look of its competitors like the Kia Telluride and the Hyundai Palisade. Although it isn’t very glamorous or even somewhat enjoyable to drive, many people feel that the 2022 Honda Pilot is a significant improvement over a minivan.

Honda Pilot Redesign 2022 Specs

The Honda Pilot 2022 is available with either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) with a single-engine configuration. A 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque is used in the production of Honda’s Pilot. Each and every Pilot comes standard with a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The fuel efficiency of the Honda Pilot will vary depending on whether it has front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Fuel economy in city driving, highway driving, and combined driving for FWD vehicles are a decent 20/27/23. On 19/26/22, the decrease in fuel economy brought on by all-wheel-drive configurations was hardly noticeable.

By 2022, the Honda Pilot is entering the seventh year of its third generation on the mainstream auto market. It is rumored that the Pilot will undergo a complete redesign and receive a variety of updates, upgrades, and all-new features for the 2023 model year.

What’s it like to live with?

Check out our in-depth review of the Honda Pilot if you’re curious about what it’s like to own and operate one of these vehicles in your daily life. We put a Honda Pilot Elite through a yearlong battery of tests, during which time we racked up over 20,000 miles of driving, including using it to go to and from work, traveling in it, and collecting data as we went. It is important to keep in mind that although we conducted our tests on a model from 2016, the majority of our findings still apply to the Honda Pilot 2022.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

According to both the EPA and our real-world tests, fuel economy is excellent in Honda’s showroom, and the Pilot is very fuel-efficient for such a big and versatile vehicle. The variant with front-wheel drive will earn 20 city mpg and 27 highway mpg. The addition of all-wheel drive reduces both official ratings by 1 mpg, for a total of 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. On our 75 mph fuel-economy route, the all-wheel-drive Elite model we tested surpassed its highway rating, obtaining 27 mpg.
